Identify the intended volume target
Get IPTV volume-button setup begins by identifying what should become louder: the television, receiver, soundbar or streaming device. Write down the equipment actually producing sound. If the Google TV menus respond to the directional buttons but volume does not change, record these as two different observations. A working menu button does not by itself identify the volume target. Avoid repeatedly raising levels while the target is unclear.
Check the remote-button configuration
On Chromecast with Google TV or Google TV Streamer, Google’s official guide describes selecting the device controlled by the remote’s volume buttons. Open All settings, then Remotes & Accessories and Set up remote buttons, using the labels your device displays. Check the selected volume device before changing it. Follow the on-screen sound check at a comfortable level, point the remote at the intended equipment and answer the test honestly; some models are unsupported.
Compare the original equipment remote
Google also documents that streaming-device volume and TV volume can differ. Use the original TV or soundbar remote to check that equipment’s mute state and a modest listening level. Then return to the same programme and compare one control at a time. If help is needed, report the streaming-device model, selected volume target and whether the original remote changes the sound. This observation is more useful than simply saying that the IPTV player has no volume.
